These saffron threads are superior to alternatives such as saffron powder or turmeric for adding colour and flavour to rice.  The threads keep their flavour for far longer. It's only necessary to use a pinch. It is also the world's most expensive spice by weight. This is a product form "Salsafran" (Novelda-Valencia)
